Months after launching its three devices—Smartron t.book, Smartron srt.phone and Smartron t.phone, the Hyderabad-based firm Smartron has introduced Smartron t.phone P in the market.
Like its previous products that had decent hardware configurations within a small budget, the Smartron t.phone P has been priced at Rs 7,999 and comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 3 GB of RAM, Android 7.1 and 5000mAh battery.
Details :-
- The first thing that you will notice is the impressive design of t.phone P which is simple but appealing. It has a metal rear panel with plastic caps at the top and bottom. Also, a plastic band that wraps around the phone gives it a premium look.
- The front is dominated by a 5.2-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels.
- Display quality is sharp and colourful. The screen is adjustable to light conditions and adaptive display works well indoors.
- The front also houses a camera on the top, while three capacitive touch keys are placed on the bottom.
- The 3.5 mm headphones socket and the secondary microphone are positioned on the top, while the Micro-USB port and speaker grilles are on the bottom.
- The rear has the primary camera in the upper left corner with its single-LED flash and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
- With a thickness of 8.9 mm and weight of 160g, the device is neither too slim nor too heavy. It is comfortable to hold and operate and is non-slippery at the same time, thanks to its compact dimensions.
- Smartron t.phone P is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with four cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and the other four at 1.1 GHz.
- The devices comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage which is expandable up to 128 GB with the help of microSD card.

Performance :-
- During the review period, the phone could handle every task smoothly. We did not experience lags or delays in the user interface when shuffling between apps.
Camera :-
- On the camera front, it has nothing much to offer. The Smartron t.phone P comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
- The camera division has some inbuilt features but there is nothing unique about it, you are likely to find these in all smartphones these days. Both the cameras are decent and take pictures with average quality in regular light. However, the images were a little dull and less vibrant in low light conditions.
Software :-
- On the software part, Smartron has pre-installed a few of its own apps like t.cloud, t.care, t.store, and a forum app but are not cluttered that these will spoil the user experience. The t.cloud app is Smartron’s cloud storage app that offers 1000 GB of free cloud storage. This requires a user to create a TronX ID. One could use it for saving pictures and videos.
- This dual-SIM phone has connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include proximity sensor, accelerometer and ambient light sensor. It is packed with a 5000 mAh Lithium-ion Polymer battery which can last a whole day with multitasking and continuous data usage.
Overall, the Smartron t.phone P is a decent budget smartphone with attractive design, good features and long battery life.
